downloading software

HI

I downloaded the download file for the Nighthawk X6S router for Windows, but it doesn t have .exe. Please explain how to activate it

    What software are you referring too? 

    What model  router are you referring too? R####?

    Is this the firmware file?

    Same approach regardless of the Netgear device you own.

     

    The only other Windows "software" that isn't an exe could be the Netgear genie for Windows.

     

    That is bundled into a RAR file. (A sort of computer nerds alternative to a zip file.) There are various free options out there to unpack that. Also, nothing to do with your specific device.
