I have a AX1800 mesh extender that contects great to my router with hard wired ethernet cable and using my nighthawk app, but as soon as I disconnect ethernet cable, signal on extender is lost. I hav...
when you setup an extender, you can set it up 2 routers.
1. in access point mode. That'd be hardwired into the router
2. in extender mode. that'd be wirelessly connected
If it only works hardwired in, you set it up in access point mode. If you're wanting to use it as an extender, factory reset the extender and reinstall it using the installation assistant. make sure to choose extender mode during setup.
