What actual arris device was it? Was it a modem/router combo device?

My old modem is a ARRIS Surboard model SB6121. My router is a NETGEAR 09 Model R6250. The I bought the new CM1100 MODEM after Comcast told me with the old ARRIS modem my internet speeds won't be high as what is availble.
Thanks

I'll bite. How, exactly, did you use an SB6121 _without_ using an
Ethernet cable?> [...] Will it be nessesary to connect the ethernet cable supplied with

special about "the ethernet cable supplied with the CM1100".Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. The usual easy way to configure a cable modem these days is to
connect a computer to it, and use the ISP's automatic scheme.
If that's inconvenient, then I'd guess that you could call Comcast,
and read the MAC address from the modem label to the agent.> [...] If that is the case it won't be a easy set up since my old modem

router's WAN/Internet port, then what can't you just move the end ofthat cable from the router to the computer?
I think that this is an easier task than you seem to think.
