Still true.

R7000? Firmware version?

Sounds to me like a bad switch.

If you have only two client devices, then why do you need the switch?

I checked the routers settings to see if the firmware was up to date and it was. I can fetch it if it's a necessity!
- Maybe I can clear it up a bit (sorry):
- If I have the power source plugged in, the power light is constantly green in the front. There is also a green light that is constantly on above the fourth port (on the right side).
- I tried plugging my cable that comes from the router to the switch in every port. No lights came on. I have tried putting in the other ethernet cables in as well in addition to the former cable, and no lights came on.
Also, I have my router and modem on a different level in my house, and the rest of the router's ports are hooked up to TVs and streaming devices, leaving me with one port left.
I tried hooking up the ethernet cable straight from the modem but that didn't work either. If I plug the ethernet cable straight from the router to my PC on a different level, I get connection. It's just a matter of being able to use that single port from my router to wire through my house to connect to a switch--allowing me to plug my game system in as well

Thank you. I've spent countless hours trying to pinpoint the problem, even to the point of opening up the hardware. I didn't want to invest in another switch if it wasn't the problem, but I can't find any other logical solution.
- I tried connecting the same switch directly to the modem but nothing changed.
In the very end, I at least learned a lot. Thank you for your time and input- Jae
