Family got r7350 router and CM600 modem with xfinity

So my family is trying to switch from AT&T to Xfinity. So before we switched we got a nighthawk r7350 router to see if it would boost the at&t modem we are renting from them. It did nothing and we registered the same router 2 times by mistake. We then got a CM600 modem to replace the at&t one and switched to xfinity. But no matter what we do, even after xfinity tech came by and set up the modem. The Wi-Fi still won’t connect to our devices nor the router. We don’t know what to do, we are thinking of calling another tech to come look at it but I also know Reddit has its geniuses on here too.

Routers don't boost signals from ISP modems. Just interface and pass thru traffic from devices to the modem is all.

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update? A complete pull of the power adapters for a period of time after the factory reset then walk thru the setup wizard and setup from scratch. Recommend setting the default DHCP IP address pool range to the following after applying and a factory reset: 192.168.#.100 to 192.168.#.200.

There's a support site with access to manuals, firmware, install guides, etc.
    Go to https://www.netgear.com/support/
Type in your model number and from there it'll take you to the above.
Its a great resource to start with.
