You should review this and maybe revert back to this recommended version of FW:

Since I've flashed Tomato a few weeks ago I've forgotten that I have a router- it's working perfectly getting dust because i do not touch it at all :-)...
Parental control works perfectly, 0 drops, strong signal - save your time and do a similar thing!

Spent too much time troubleshooting this today, so I jumped onto Tomato as well:
| Current Version: | 1.28.0000 -3.5-140 K26ARM USB AIO-64K |
Initially much seems improved, though strangely I've found one device (2016 Macbook Pro) that can only reach ~5Mbps on 2.4Ghz strangly. The same device on the 5Ghz band maxes out the internet connection, and my iPhone on the 2.4Ghz band can also nearly max out the internet connection.
Time will tell if this is just a fluke, but generally it does seem initially better.

Why is Tomato and dd-wrt stable and an old Netgear firmware not??? Who can explain this?? I really don't understand. It was stable with old firmwares. I wasn't able to achieve that. Did they ruin something, the hardware? In that case Tomato would fail to. I don't get it.
