You should be fine to upgrade the firmware just make sure you do it with a PC directly connect via wired ethernet and not with a device connected via the wireless.

Hi,
No matter f I upload firmware or using the auto method the fireware is not updating... once rebooted it shows same version.
Hardware Version R8000P Firmware Version V1.4.0.10_1.2.14 GUI Language Version V1.4.1.24_2.1.46.1
maybe try the TFTP method see if that works
