Firmware check error
When I try to update my router firmware, I get a “firmware check error”. I tried rebooting, but I still get the message

Was trying to update via the app, but getting an error message. Had to use the directions for manual update and it worked. Still not sure why I got the error on the app, but will do manual updates from now on.

You didn't put much info like model number. You can do a manual update to the firmware if its strictly a router.
go to https://www.netgear.com/support/default.aspx
put in your model number. It'll have the current firmware version as well as a section with manuals that can walk you through how to manually update the device. Give this a shot.

Which one?

and look for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and
Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the
kit(s). Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file
for instructions. - DarrenMMar 20, 2019Sr. NETGEAR Moderator
