I spoke to an IT specialist and he told me not to try the TFTP method. It wouln’d work, he said. His advice: if the router is working fine I wouldn't update.
So I have decided, not to get annoyed about the update problem anymore.

For the English dudes among us, I'll try in English.
Firmware update Nighthawk R7000 failed.
About 2-3 times a year I usually receive emails, which inform me that I can update my Nighthawk R7000 (which I bought in Februari 2016). During the first 2-3 years I succeeded to update my router, but lately things keep going wrong.
Apparently the firmware is updated (message: update succeeded), but I still see the old version 1.0.9.26 (so, it did not succeed).
I searched a lot on the Internet and on this Community, but I can't find anything about my specific problem.
Netgear support is not available, due to the age of my router (5 y. old).I was wondering whether it is impossible to update my router, after a certain age.
According to the update list, the latest version should be nr. 1.0.11.110.
Could I be unable to skip updates in between 1.0.9.26 and 1.0.11.110?
I am using windows 10 on my laptop now. I have been trying to update on the laptop and on the Netgear App, both without success.Who has the solution for me?

You may want to try the TFTP method to update the firmware.

Thank you DarrenM,
Although I don't know much about computers (I am a real amateur), I will try to see if your proposal works.
