You an always disable smart connect and set different name for the wireless networks. Then you can choose which devices to connect to.

Thank you. I had to use the app on my phone. I turned off Smart Connect. it looks like everything is on 2.4ghz except what is connected by ethernet. I'll see how this goes from here. Thanks for your help.

When you turn off smart connect, the name you were using before is the name ths 2.4ghz ssid uses. If you want devices to go back to 5ghz without having to change them all, change the ssid name of the 2.4ghz to something different and put the 5ghz with the same ssid.
