Forgotten Router Password

I am desperate for help with this situation.  I have forgotten my router password.  www.routerlogin.net, netgear genie & nighthawk apps were tried but were unsuccessful in terms of helping me get to admin for my router.  The admin user name & password did not work for me.

I have concerns about factory reset because I am not sure if it will work and I have several devices connected to that router. Please advice regarding the best course of action to take to resolve this issue.  I need to connect a new device to my router as soon as possible..  Thanks!!!!

    If you don't know the login info and don't know the password recovery questions (or didn't set them up), then factory reset would be your only option to get back in. 

    You could always try the defaults. 

    default login: admin

    password: password

      I did set up the password recovery and know the info i need to enter for it.  I dont know the login password.  The dialog box for routerlogin.net does not accept "password" for the password.
