If you're getting the same packet loss and latency issues with the device hardwired directly into the modem, what makes you suspect the router?

Not sure if its the Modem or simply could be COD servers. It is strange how many people claim not to experience the issue and some do. Many posts acrosss the web about LAG/LATENCY with this game.
I reached out to our internet service provider yesterday and had them up our speed to see if that would improve the gaming experience but I did not see any improvement.
I did find while looking at my Xbox that it had the wrong power cord and replaced it with the correct one. There was a debate on the power cord in the past about using the factory 7v 125w oem unit vs the 10v 125w.
Yesterday, I also reset the modem and settings on the router back to default and it shows OPEN NAT TYPE in XBOX Settings and COD Home Screen.
Any input from the forum on hard-wired setup to improve LAG or LATENCY?
Cheers!

Follow up.
I have since replaced my Nighthawk R7000P with an Asus AX5400 and was able to sort my issues for the most part.
Had Cox Tech come test our service and he found our modem was faulty along with our Nighthawk R7000P. Niether of the items were able to produce the speeds being passed through them.
I have replaced the modem with another Arris SB8200 and the above mentioned Asus router. Speeds and performance are now in spec for what we pay. My online gaming has improved as well.
