Hey guys I cannot connect my grill to nighthawk router. I did just about everything I can think of to get it to connect. Turned off the 5ghz, disabled the wan protections and tried to connect it with ...

what modem/gateway is the router connected to?
What firmware is on your router?

My isp is an ota tower. I have a poe antenna connected to the router through a Ethernet surge protector.
Firmware is V1.4.1.68_1.3.28.

Seems like I"m always seeing issues on OTA broadcast internet.
Some have their own routing capability built in at the tower versus some act as true gateways.
Never really know.
Got an old router sitting around? Easy check is to put the old router in access point mode. If it works in access point mode, the OTA is using their own routing and causing a double nat. Some devices have issues setting up with a double nat. Luckily, usually if you can get them setup, they'll work. Which is where the old router comes in.
If you don't, you can try your current router in access point mode. It can cause issues if nothing is handling DHCP when you switch though.
Another option you can try.
Use a phone as a hotspot and use the same ssid/password as your current router. Get the grill setup and updated. Maybe it'll auto-connect/function if its updated and already setup.

Ironically I already had an old netgear router set up as an AP and nothing stayed connected to it with it plugged directly into the poe box. My assumption is that devices won't stay connected because its not getting IP assigned from the antenna. I couldn't get the hotspot trick to work either. I haven't had anything connect to 2 control boards on this grill. Its almost like there is no antenna or something. I've never had any other connection issues with any other devices. Wouldn't the grill still be able to see the signal reguardless of up stream (antenna) issues?
