GS305v3 not getting Gigabit speed

The problem is with the GS305v3. In fact, the same switch can get 1000M when connected to my other router, a R6250, with the same cable.
I had nothing but trouble with this piece of crap. The R6250 seems to be the only device it will connect at Gigabit speed. I can't believe Netgear is even selling it.
Has anyone tried 12V power adapter with GS305v3? I know it takes 5V only, but GS308 uses 12V, and it is hard to imagine that GS305 and GS308 use different chipsets,

Huh? At least one of us is confused.

The question is the power-supply circuitry, not the "chipsets". You
don't need to "imagine" anything, just read the Product Data Sheet.

for Documentation.) Or look at the label.
