In order for an AP to provide isolated guest access some means is required to isolate the traffic while it traverses the Ethernet line to the primary router. Typically, this is done using VLANs and must be set up on both the primary router and the AP. Well, most consumer grade routers don't provide this type of VLAN support. Full-fledged VLAN support is usually only found on SOHO/Business-class gear.
The easiest solution is to upgrade your primary router to one with guest access. There are affordable SOHO/Business-class as well as third-party solutions but they are less user-friendly.
