Guest Network Technical Explanation
I currently have my R6900P router configured with both 2G/5G LANs as well as 2G-Guest/5G-Guest LANs. I use the 2G/5G guest LANs for my IOT devices such as treadmill, lights and for any friends that want to connect while they are here in my house. I've also configured MAC authentication and enabled the computers cannot see each other option. My question is, are the Netgear guest networks simply a VLAN? What type of security do they offer?I have been trying to find some in-depth technical documentation that explains how Netgear has implemented their guest networks.
Much gratitude in advance for any and all responses.

The guest network still works off the current bands that are being broadcasted but is Isolated via the firmware in the router from the main networks.

Thank for your response. Are there any technical documents that explain how this is separated in firmware?

Not that I know of, but Guest network is a bunch of Linux iptables rules to separate it. There's no VLANs involved
