Help running 2 routers with different SSIDs without performance issues
I am using an R8000 right now for all my devices including my work laptop since I work from home. Is it possible to also run a mesh with system with a different SSID to put all my non work devices on and there be no interference? If so can someone help me with how I should see this up and any settings?
Right now the R8000 is by my ISP gateway which is in bridge mode.

The R8000 is not designed to work as a Mesh router. What you can do is set the second router in Access Point mode and pull a cable to it. If this is not an option for you, Powerline adapters are a sound alternatives albeit they tend to be slower
It is not clear to me if you want to attach a full Mesh to the R8000 or if you have two R8000 routers

If you want a seperate Mesh, I'd look into the Orbi products of NETGEAR
