How is the NETGEAR Nighthawk AC2600 Smart WiFi Router (R7450) compared to the TP-Link AC1900 A9?

Hello! I'm upgrading my default Spectrum router right now in my 1200 sq ft. home. The router is in the living room and in the next room I play a lot of games and stream bluray rips.

How do these two routers compare? Any thoughts on either of them?

This may not be the best place to get answers to that question. It is, after all given over to Netgear devices,

The R7450 is a slightly ageing middle of the range router.

Perhaps one of the sales or review sites is a better place to look.

I would actually be watching on some of the big box sites for AX routers. the AC line is going to be several years out of date and sometimes you can find decent AX routers for the same price as the AC routers.

Plus if you're ok with renewed/refurbished devices, we're seeing those at much cheaper price points

The bump to AX might not give you much more speed/coverage but it'll have security fixes for longer and WPA3 capabilities. Plus the equipment being newer tends to be more efficient
