How to add MAC address for new iPhone

I'm sorry, I must have started in the middle instead of at the beginning.
I have previously gone into routerlogin.net, Advanced, Security, Access Control.
Access Control was turned off, but is now turned on (checked).
There is a table there where I have assigned an IP address for each of my devices that uses my router, and typed in the MAC address for each device, in order to limit access to my network. My old iPhone was listed, but I have now replaced it with a newer iPhone. When I transferred data from old phone to new, the transfer must have transferred the assigned IP address. The MAC address is preassigned when a device is manufactured, so the router would not 'know' what the MAC address is of the new phone. So I need to go into the Netgear router's interface to input the MAC address of the new device. I can get to the table that has that information, but it will not let me edit the MAC address. Can you please help me know how to either edit this information, or add the new phone. I can figure out how to delete the old one if I need to go that route (delete/add). Thank you.

I'd expect that to be under ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup : Address
Reservation. Which is unrelated to Access Control.
I don't use it, so I know nothing, but, as I read the R7900P User
Manual, Access control works with MAC addresses, not IP addresses.

"must have"? I doubt it. The IP address is determined by the
router, not by the iPhone. If "transferred data" transferred the MAC
address (which I would _not_ expect), then the router might see the same
old MAC address, and grant it the same old IP address as always.

Yes and no. As explained in that Apple Support article, cited above,
your new iPhone might fiddle with its MAC address in ways which you
wouldn't expect.

If you're using Access Control on the router, then the _first_ thing
you should do is "Turn private address off" on the new iPhone (for any
of the router's SSIDs which you might use), so that the new iPhone will
always uses the same MAC address when connecting to your router using
those SSIDs.
_Then_, you'd need to use the Add or Edit control in the router's
Access Control stuff to get the new iPhone's (now stable) MAC address
into the "allowed devices" list.

Which "the table", where? How, exactly, does it stop you from doing
what, where?

I'd expect to find Add, Delete, and Edit controls in the Access
Control stuff, and in the Address Reservation stuff. I don't see the
mystery, but I can't see what you're doing/seeing.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for
topics like "Access Control" and "Address Reservation". Further reading
might not hurt, either.
