How to change Nighthawk R7000 from PPPoE to DHCP Internet service provider
ISP updated thier service (router lost connection) and told me to change my router from PPPoE to DHCP.
In the dropdown box their is No DHCP option under Internet service provider, only PPPoE, PPTP, and L2TP and you can't put anything in the space manually.
Under advanced Lan setup the DHCP box IS checked.
Service provider has temporarily changed back to PPPoE until I can figure out how to change the router settings.
I only know a few basics, please reply in words that I can understand

That's _all_ they told you?
Knowing nothing, my guess would be that you need to change BASIC >
Internet : Does your Internet connection require a login? to "No". And
then "Get Dynamically from ISP" in various places below. Presumably,
your ISP would know if their new scheme does or does not use a user name
and password ("login").Alternatively, you could do a settings reset, and then let the
router's set-up wizard try to puzzle out the Internet settings at its
next start. I'd save the current settings first, then reset, and, if
the wizard gets the connection to work, examine the BASIC > Internet
settings to see how it was done. Then, if manually reconfiguring
everything would be a bother, restore the saved settings, and manually
make the appropriate changes to the BASIC > Internet settings.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read. Look for
"Specify Your Internet Settings", "Return the Router to Its Factory
Default Settings", and "Manage the Router Configuration File".
