Can you set the router in Router mode and disable DHCP by unchecking the "use router as DHCP server" box?

Thx for responding so quickly, I use the web interface, tab advanced, advanced settings and then select AP. After doing that, the LAN and WAN settings are grayed out. And Even as AP, the router showes DHCP is on, next to the conflicts. Pls refer to attachment. Any advise what I can do otherwise?

That sounds right.

That suggests that the firmware is defective. Either DHCP is really
on, even with "Operation Mode: Access Point", or else the indication is
wrong, and DHCP is really off.If you are sure that the R7000-as-wireless-access-point is your
second DHCP server, then I'd try a settings reset and manual
reconfiguration. If that doesn't help, then I'd try a different
firmware version.> firmware V1.0.9.88_10.2.88
Not everyone's favorite. The current consensus seems to be that
V1.0.9.42_10.2.44 is a better bet. There's also a newer version.
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Downloads. (For older versions, under Firmware and
Software Downloads, look for "View Previous Versions".) Find the
kit(s). Download the kit(s) you want. Read the "Release Notes" file
for instructions.- RayB398May 13, 2020Tutor
Hi Sensei, took some time, did a new manual setup, restored to the new and later ot the old version of the firmware but all no avail, still 2 dhcp servers in the network. Had the provider look into the network, saw the same. Like you said, must be a firmware problem. I guess , most using the nighthawk as ap use the modem as bridge but is not possible in my case. How can I approach netgear on this? any idea? Appreciate your support!
