The CM1100 has 2x ethernet ports. the problem isn't the modem, its the ISP. Most of the major ISP's only allow 1 public ip address for consumer lines. So you can only connect 1 device.
You can pay for more IP addresses or upgrade to business class to get more with some of the ISP's. If you do that, then you could attach more than 1 device (not through a switch though).
