I have a model Nighthawk X10 and Nighthawk X65 Model EX8000 I can not get extender to hookup
I have just had this problem since I updated my firm ware and software. I tried to connect and I get the message to look for the net 65ext. I do not show that. I have unpluged both the router, modem and extendern and ten restarting first the modem then the router then the extender. that did not do any good. I am lost and not a IT person or have any experience. can anyone suggest what to do.

do you have the EX8000 setup as a mesh device?
If so, it uses the same ssid as the router and you won't see a "ext" device.
Maybe after the update, it got switched to mesh mode (onessid is what its called)
What are all the led's on the ex8000 showing?
