Spectrum Wave 2
R6900 gigabit I believe
When the technician hooked it up the internet showed to be red and wouldn't work, we rebooted the router and reset it to no avail. Then I updated the firmware which didn't work as well. The Wave 2 provided by Spectrum isn't very good either.

Spectrum has 3x wave 2 routers.
Try putting the R6900 in access point mode and connecting it to the spectrum device.

Update on equipment
AC1900 R7000
RAG2V1K Spectrum Router
So I set it up as an AP and the internet does work now, however I don't see the 5G option come up on WIFI anymore, and when I connect it seems to have to *configure* often when I connect to some devices: Laptop, phone etc. It's like the internet comes available on and off?
When it does work though it works great across the house, better than the Spectrum Router.
You're insight is greatly appreciated.
Best regards,

Do you have the R6900 or R7000?
Also, if you're using smart connect, it combines the 2.4ghz and 5ghz into a single ssid. They won't show as seperate unless you disable smart connect and name the ssid's different

Yes, I have smart connect set up. Do you suggest I take it off?
Also, I have the R7000.
Thank you,
