I have an Arris NVG443B

I have 2 Arris NVG443B routers. Can I use yhe second one for an extender? My router is upstairs and I cannot get wifi downstairs other then the dinning room and the living room.What can I do to extend it? I bought and extender but I have no idea how to set it up.It's so complikated.Thank yoyu Ladywolf5
