I'm on V1.0.6.54_1.2.3 and it's perfect!
Hi, I am one of those who do not underand all the complaints around firmware for the R7000. I have had minor problems with a couple of releases, but not anything serious, However, after I got V1....
As far as I understand V1.0.6.54_1.2.3 is not the version that was pulled. The version pulled was R7000-V1.0.6.40_1.1.90.chk
V1.0.6.54_1.2.3 seems to be the newest beta that has been published. But since the way Netgear names it's firmware updates in more mysterious ways than even the creator of our universe could come up with, it is understandable that you lost track.
So first:
-Find out if it is true what I say ( it always is.... ;-)
-Then ask yourself if you want to become a beta freak for Netgear ( hahahahahha)
-Then consider that the latest 'officially stable' firmware for R7000 is:
V1.0.5.70_1.1.91
And then think what you want to do. Use V1.0.6.54_1.2.3 or V1.0.5.70_1.1.91.
You could try V1.0.5.70_1.1.91 and tell me what you think. If you think V1.0.6.54_1.2.3 is better, I will try that too!
Ok thanks. That far back. And you think I can flash it on top of the newer one? Factory reset is okay for me, but any kind of bricking isn't :)

Hi,Thank you. That was very helpful! :) Yes, it seems to be a beta. And it seems to work better than anything I've used in the past. Being a beta tester? Isn't all their firmware beta? ;) Joke aside, I have not had serious problems with Netgear firmware. So then I wonder if I should just keep this beta even if it contains the Arlo stuff I do not need. I wish Arlo was an option that could be disabled with a checkbox in the firmware, but that is another story. I will let you know my findings trying the older version compared to V1.0.6.54_1.2.3 i

I tried V1.0.5.70_1.1.91 but V1.0.6.54_1.2.3 works better for me. Even IPv6 works perfectly. My wi-fi is rock solid at speeds I haven't seen with earlier releases. Is there a version identical to V1.0.6.54_1.2.3 but without the Arlo stuff? I wish all the firmware was available in one place including betas. Would make all this a whole lot easier! :)
