I have taken the extender out of the equation now.......as it's not really needed....reset the extender to factory defaults unplugged it..
rebooted router, powered off my iphone (which was one of the devices showing the spoofed MAC address).
once turned on I was expecting my iphone to report into the router the correct wifi MAC address but it still has the spoofed (Extender address)....Umm

Even more puzzled now....removed all devices from the "View list of allowed devices not currently connected to the network" list
which included my spoofed MAC address for my iphone (when the extender was in play)
Turned off iphone, refreshed router Access Control page - device disappeared from the Allowed Connected list, and went into the
"View list of allowed devices not currently connected to the network" list.
Turned off iphone again and back on and now another MAC address (which is different again!!) has appeared in the Allowed Connected list.
and it's not the REAL iphone Wifi MAC address!!
