Increasing WiFi Performance for R9000 with 1gbps Internet
I've recently changed my internet service to 1gb and want advice on maximizing its use. Across my devices on WiFi I'm only seeing about 400-500mbps and have some questions...
1. Realizing that the maximum WiFi throughput depends on the device's capability, I'm wondering if the above speeds are typical. I primarily use my iPad Pro 12.9 2nd Generation and iPhone X Max which I believe will support 802.3ac. If not, I'm thinking of downgrading to a less expensive 600mbps plan.
2. If it is possible, would using a Netgear Cable Modem such as the CM1200 and setting up link aggregation with the R9000 improve the WiFi performance? If not, I might as well get a modem such as the Motorola MB8200.
Any other advice to increase WiFi performance would be appreciated.

That's as fast as many wifi devices can handle. That's where the bottlenecks are.
It might be worth a bit of background reading.
Understand Wi-Fi 4/5/6 (802.11 n/ac/ad/ax)
@duckware knows their stuff and can bust a few myths and cut through marketing hype.
