initial firmware r7800

have installed DD-WRT on nighthawk r 7800,want to remove it, need to have the initial firmare to achieve that.

You will have to talk to the people behind DD-WRT for help in removing it.

The original firmware is where it always was, on the support pages for the R7800.

Because its not on the Support page. Hasn't been in a long time. I need the same thing, the initial firmware.

Recovering from DD-WRT needs "official firmware" not "first version" firmware.
&nbsp;
Of course, one would expect anyone diving into third party firmware to prepare themselves for a "reset" before they went down that road.

Very true, but that may not be the first version out of the block.

Good question. I had access to some truly freaky versions that would amaze folks.

It may be that AKDavetech saw the list of changes in the first version in the archive and assume that it signified earlier official versions. Nope. It just shows what got fixed during the beta process.

We all know that these devices go through beta tests with firmware versions that never see the light of day. (Nor should they.)&nbsp;
&nbsp;
There are also times when Netgear removes firmware from the library. And that can happen to new versions.
&nbsp;
That is because some are so bad, and cause so many problems, that it would be nuts to leave them in the library.
&nbsp;
I any case, the archive library may not include firmware on the first&nbsp; models off the production line.
&nbsp;
Is there any way for a user to extract that firmware from the device itself? If not, then it won't be available to anyone outside Netgear, or the beta team.
&nbsp;
I wonder if MATT22__ found what they needed.
