Internet connection periodically suffering "hiccups"

Hello --

I have been experiencing periodic "hiccups" to my Internet connection. What happens is I will be doing work online, and then I witness various websites, Teams and Zoom meetings suddenly losing their connectivity. Sometimes the connection comes back

without further intervention, and other times I have to reboot my workstation upwards to several times.

I had my Internet Service Provider, Verizon FiOS, send a technician to my site, and he confirmed the signal going to the router, and to the extender is good. He also confirmed that my configuration was correct. Therefore, the problem appears to be local to my wi-fi connector.

I ran diagnostics, and there were no reported problems. I also checked for updates, and I got confirmation that everything is up to date. The workstation is running Windows 10 Home - Build 1909.

Has anyone had similar issues, and can provide information on this?

Thanks.

  • You have posted in the section for Nighthawk WiFi Routers. The Model: A7000|Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi USB Adapter - USB 3.0 listed in your footer is not a router, but a USB gadget to connect to the Internet.

So, what are we talking about here?

What firmware version do you have on the device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
