Internet signal cutting in/out
Hi there, Keeping in mind that anyone reading this is very likely to be more educated about routers than I am (so please be patient with me), I have the following issue. I've had my R8000 rou...

Your modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

Thanks. I had read that if I do that, I lose the built in protection of my IoT devices that the router currently provides. Is that true?
What "protection" do you have in mind? And what IoT devices?
Security should be in the hands of your T Mobile Modem.

I'm not a "tech person". All I can tell you is that I used to have a product called Bitdefender Box 2 on my system. I purchased the Netgear Nighthawk router becuase it did the same thing, and therefore allowed me to remove a piece of hardware from my setup. Here is a description of Box 2 and it's protections. My IoT devices include two "smart" speakers, two "smart" TVs, garage door opener, two phones, two tablets, etc.

Give the DMZ suggestion a try first before trying something different. The DMZ option should work for you...

Thanks! Still trying to figure out how to accomplish that. It seems that T Mobile has blocked a lot of this modem/router's capabilities, from what I'm reading. But I'm still on it. Thanks again!!

If you can't seem to find the DMZ or IP-Pass thru featured on the ISP Modem, you can try the AP mode suggestion of course.
