ISP Throttling
Thanks for taking my question? Do ISP still use a Throttling- down of speeds when my new router is installed? Does Netgears speed checker (NightHawk - bitdefender) tell me if throttling? Doe...

You can get the latest firmware from here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/R6400v2.aspx#download
Usually, ISPs throttle specific protocols, like File Sharing, and not the whole spectrum. This means that your speedtests may come out just fine, but if you start a File Sharing download, it can be throttled. ISPs often use DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) to look into and throttle accordingly

Are you having an issue/problem?
You're description is a bit vague so I'm not sure if you're having a problem or just curious.

Thank you for your reply. I am curious. If true, how do I measure the impact, if any.
Also, I tried to find the firmware version of my router (AC1750 R6400 v2) but could not find it. Can you tell me how to find it.
Thank you for your help.
