michaelkenward I knew that it was recommended to turn off QoS and only mentioned it so that it others wouldn't suggest it like in some other discussions I've read
As far as network connection, the problem person is using cat7 ethernet. Our wifi isn't a problem since the router only averages 200 mbps down.
What I'm trying to do is intentionally limiting this person's speed without affecting the rest of the people on the network. I just wanted to see if it was at all possible with this router.
microchip8 made it sound like there is non-stock firmware out there that would let me do this, but if not, I was going to buy an Asus router instead since I know those have the option.

I didn't imply there are 3rd party firmwares out there that support that feature. I just said it's not supported by the stock firmware

The R6260 is probably too downmarket to have attracted much in the way of serious attention from the code hackers.
Doesn't qualify for the Nighthawk tag. They like something with a bit of oomph under the bonnet/hood.
Not much sign of action in the usual places.
