    Which router?

What are you trying to do that needs the DHCP address? That's usually a router thing.

Perhaps there are other ways of getting at what you want to do.

Is the Model: A7000|Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi USB Adapter - USB 3.0 listed in your footer involved in this in anyway? Or did you just click the first thing that popped up when you wrote your message?

This what I have: Nighthawk, AC1900 Smart WiFi Router, Model R7000

The reason for question, I had to work with Cox Cable support (Level 1 and manger) and tried to confirm the IP address or lack of an IP address.

I have a Arris cable modem, it optains an IP address from Cox and passes it on to my router.  The modem does not retain IP.  Level 1 tech kept rebooting modem; everything was showing physical connections were good, be I could not ping or brouse the internet.  Manager got invovled (had to press), he rebooted and I was able to reach the internet. I believe he may done something else because reboot of modem took longer.  I am trying to learn how to see DHCP address for the next time, I have to work with Cox and for my own education.

So is there a way I can see the DHCP address sent to router from Cox.  I am not asking about DHCP on local lan.

Ah, I begin to see things now. It always helps to get back to the root cause.

I wonder why they go on about DHCP. I'd have thought that the IP address on the WAN is the issue.

Does this Arris cable modem have a model number? There are many of those out there. The symptoms you describe points to something in that direction.

That is not what you picked for your "footer". Look at that again. It says A7000|Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi USB Adapter - USB 3.0 which is nothing like a router. A7000 and R7000 arenlt the same thbing. But you aren't the first, and won't be the last, so make that choice. Netgear's system invites that sort of mistake.
