Modem firmware change now no Netgear internet connections
Hello,
I've got a 5G Nokia modem supplied by T Mobile home internet services that connects to my Nighthawk R8000 via ethernet cable.
Due to a software conflict on my system, the modem's firmware had to be downgraded, which fixed the issue.
Now, however, even though all of the correct lights are on (white) on the R8000, and my iMac computer says it's connected via wifi, I have zero internet connection. The Netgear App for the router connects to the router as though nothing is wrong. And I can even run speed tests through the app. But I can't browse the internet, get email to send/receive, etc.
I've tried to turn everything off. Then restart the modem and wait until it's fully on. Then starting the R8000. Waiting until it's fully on and connected. And then starting the computer...three times now. That doesn't seem to help.
The only way I can connect (and send this) is to use the wifi that the modem from T-Mobile also generates (bypassing the router all together). Any thoughts on how to get my old setup back where I connect via the R8000 connections?
Thanks!
No need to reply. 30 minutes later, it just started connecting and working again. No changes in settings or anything! Makes no sense...

Not quite. These things can take time to make connections, establish their settings and start to play ball. Indeed, the setup process for new devices details the delays that you should wait when doing this.
For future reference, it is also important to do things in the correct order. That means rebooting things one at a time. Get that wrong and the network can get its knickers in a twist. (That's a technical term.)
