Modem wont send Internet to router
Have a CM1200 cable modem hooked to an Asus RT-N66R router. Have had this set up for some time. The other day the internet stopped working. Went through reseting both modem and router with no success...
I learned this when on first got the modem, as no one explained it to me at that time. When testing I only would have the router plugged in and into port 1. Any other ideas?
Try this. Factory reset both the modem and the router. Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while they're powered on.
then disconnect the coax from the cm1200 and disconnect everything from the router and the modem.
then leave them for 2 minutes.
Connect coax back to the cm1200
power it on and wait 2 minutes
connect a new ethernet (cat 5e or greater) to the router's wan port.
Then turn the router on. give it a couple minutes and then attempt setup.
