This tells us that the problem is limited to the wifi bit of your HP. So, not really that weird, and not much, if anything, to do with your wifi Netgear device.
Does the HP work on other wifi?
One guess is that you need to tell Windows that you are on a "private network".
- Network and Internet settings
- Network Status
- Change Connection Properties
- Network Profile
- Private
Again, nothing to do with the R8000.

michaelkenward If I disconnect the ethernet cable and try to connect to the WIFI router, it says connected but "No internet, secured". I also have to hit the disconnect button. Everything else connected to the router is fine and not having issues. TV, tablets, phones, game system, guest's phones, printer etc. The HP Envy 15t can connect through a hotspot. It's a weird one.
