My unit with this number on the back RN31400 is the subject. I wanted help when I went to the websit

I went to the NETGEAR website to ask for support. I entered the model of my unit. It automatically said, "This product is end-of-life." That is incorrect, as it has two more years on the warranty. I cannot get anywhere in dealing through the website. I need tech support, and am being eluded. What does a loyal customer have to do to receive a modicum of support?

EOL is Netgear's way of saying it doesn't make them any more. That has nothing to do with warranty. There's a different way into the warranty system.

It  might help to start on the appropriate  of this community. You have posted your message in the section of this community given over to General WiFi Routers (Non-Nighthawk). (This is easily done, given Netgear's complicated community structure.)

Many questions apply to different types of device, so there may be useful responses here, but the ReadyNAS 300 Series 4- Bay (Diskless) is nothing like a router, so you might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

ReadyNAS Network Storage: Official NETGEAR Community

You are  more likely to encounter people who are familiar with your device over there.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
