What is the interior made of? many homes built in the 50's used plaster lathe construction which was horrible for wifi. It does a very good job blocking it. Other materials do as well (adobe, brick, concrete, metal) If your home is made of those materials, a mesh system based off a wireless backhaul might not help a whole lot. usually people have to run ethernet, use moca adapters (ethernet over coax), or even powerline devices for a backhaul between routers----satellites. It changes what I'd recommend.
You put home size but now how its laid out 3000sq ft all on one level is different than a trilevel home because most routers are omnidirectional and broadcast basically in a sphere.
Also, are you looking for a AX mesh system or AC?
