Netgear app can't find my wifi network
My andriod phone is connected to my network, but the netgear app can't find it. The instructions to do it manually don't work either. Can I do this on my desktop PC?

What happens when you try? I don't understand what "can't find it" means. No error messages or other clues?
What firmware version do you have on the R6700 device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
When the R6700 came out, it supported the genie app on mobile devices. It needs the right firmware to accept the Nighthawk app.
It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

Do what on your desktop PC?
I like to use the desktop genie for windows for some things.

Netgear isn't maintaining this software and wishes it would go away, in the mad rush to push everything on to mobile apps, but it still works.
I have no idea, if the genie will do what you want to achieve.

I am trying to update the latest firmware to my
- R6700v3 router. I have tried to use the Nighthawk app on myandroid and an I phone. It keeps saying it can't find my guest network even the the phones are already on it. I've even tried the 5G guest network. Netgear genie doesn't work any more, so I can't even get into my primary network. I have updated in the past when Genie did work, but nothing seems to let the NH app find my network. I've made sure the network is open to anyone with the password, but still no luck. Is there a way I can update the firmware from my desktop? So frustrating. I've spent hours on this with no improvement. Thanks for those who have replied, though still no luck.
- Thanks for your help. Bob
