Netgear nighthawk ac2400 not recognizing external harddisk

Hi,

 

I am trying to setup an external harddisk "Western Digital My Book 8TB Hard Drive" and it doesn't get recognized. Soon as i connect it, the USB 3.0 light blinks on the router and turns off after few seconds.

 

Did anyone face this issue? can anyone help me here?

    what is it formated in? 

    Do you have seperate partions in it setup? or just one large partition.

      It was in exfat...i formatted it to NTFS. It has one large partition.....i haven't partitioned further into small sizes.
