Netgear Nighthawk r7000 dropping wifi randomly
First time poster - but hoping for some help. I’ve got a three year old Netgear Nighthawk r7000 router that started dropping wifi since Covid. We’re with Teksavvy and I checked if they were down and it doesn’t look to be our ISP. I downgraded the nighthawk to an old version of firmware (had ddwrt) and that didn’t seem to fix it. Then I’ve installed AIO fresh tomato 2020.8 and thought I was golden, but dropping still?! Looking for some help....wondering if it could be a power surge issue. All the lights on my nighthawk seem normal, I’m seeing good signal from Modem. Just tried passing my Ethernet through a power surge between modem and router. Not sure if this matters. Should I try sending my cable internet through my surge protector before the modem? Is there a way to test when I lose wifi? Time for a new router? Thanks in advance!
