So I am having problems connecting my vr headset to wired connection but do I need a wired connection? In order to play my steam Games it was asked once before but nobody replied back. Any help or suggestions switching wired connection to 2.4g to 5g wired connection...?

what vr headset do you have?
hardwired is always best. Was it the VR headset manufacturer that recommends hardwired?
You should be able to connect to the 5ghz if the VR headset supports 5ghz. What actual issue/problem are you having connecting?
A little more details on your setup, the issue you're having, what errors you're setting, and what you've tried to do to fix it can help us to help you.
- GrifRDAspirantI have the Quest 3 & i am using Airlink & my computer says netgear27 which is the 2.4 & not the 5g I need the system requirements for my quest that it says. So do I need a hardwire to the headset or can I just use Airlink but how can I change it under my wifi router setting from 2.4 to 5g? Connection wise for hardwire? From Ethernet?

Try logging into the router and see if it has smart connect under the wifi settings. If it does and thats on, the 2.4ghz and 5ghz band are combined into one. Usually you just connect the router to the wifi and after a bit, it'll dynamically switch from the 2.4ghz to the 5ghz. Or you can disable 5ghz and separate out the 2 bands. Not sure if that router supports smart connect though.
What is Smart Connect and how do I enable or disable it on my NETGEAR router? - NETGEAR Support
If not, logging should show you which band is the 5ghz that you can connect to.
