Netgear Nighthawk users please help with optimizing my set up.
So I had constant issues with parties, hearing people in chat, lag, strict nat, etc. That caused for constant hard resets multiple times a day. Usually by the time we get to play (me and my husband) after all the attempts we are to tired and give up. My daughter also plays minecraft and has to hard reboot to get chat to work, to add friends etc.
I had the Netgear N600, which is a pretty good router. But decided with multiple consoles and the fastest internet time warner offers, I should try a premiere router and maybe that would reduce the issues.
I just got the Nighthawk last night, and I set it up basic setup. Everything is up and running, but as soon as I get on call of duty it still shows NAT:STRICT. I hate seeing that red STRICT in my face when I just bought a $200 router. I tried calling microsoft to see if they could help me with the setup, to make sure everything is set up correctly for multiple consoles. I have NEVER had such horrible customer service in my life. I am not sure if it's just the night crew that is completely lazy and untrained, or support has completely gone to **bleep**. I believe the rep put me on mute to just wait for me to hang up because he did not want to deal with setting up two consoles. Waited 30 mins for another rep, told him my situation, then he said he couldn't hear me and hung up.
I have read on here multiple times to get the netgear nighthawk, so I thought I would bring it back here for support.
Thanks in advance

I am not a gamer. But I can tell there are several key pieces of information that will be needed for someone to help you.
What is the brand name and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that is connected upstream of your router? Look on the label.
What is the throughput capacity of the service plan you purchase from your ISP?
What is the model number of the router your purchased? Look on the label please. It could begin with an R.
What is the firmware version number that is installed on your router? "The Latest" is not a satisfactory answer as it does not allow verification. Should be available on the opening page of the graphical user interface.
What is the brand name and model number of the gaming console you are referring to? How is it connected to your router? Via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi?
If you purchased your new router from a retail vendor, you have 90 days of factory support from Netgear.

That is not a Netgear modem number. It is a tag for an old WiFi standard. Netgear hasn't used that to describe its routers for a decade or so.
Anything you buy now will be several generations further on in its WiFi technology.
