NETGEAR Nighthawk X10 AD7200 802.11ac/ad Quad-Stream WiFi Router

I am NOT a gamer and currently use a Linksys WRT 1900AC router.  I am looking for an updated router.  Please tell me how your Nighthawk X10 AD7200 802.11ac/ad Quad-Stream WiFi Router is superior to my current Linksys router.

its not a whole lot. It does have a better processor, slightly faster wifi (AC2600), and the capability to run plex media server.

The whole AD part of it was basically pointless. It was a failed wireless spectrum that was made obsolete by Wifi 6 (AX).

There was very few devices made the could utilize AD.

If you're looking for a router that runs Plex Media Server, then its a solid choice.

Why are you looking for an upgrade? What need is your current router not meeting?

Maybe a descreption of whats going on can help with a better recommendation.

Try plugging your needs into the filters on the product pages:

Wireless Routers for Home | NETGEAR

    and

Orbi: Whole Home WiFi System for Better WiFi Everywhere | NETGEAR

Then check back here for reports on the things you are considering, but remember that people turn up in this community with problems, not compliments. So look at reviews on Amazon, for example.

    It isn't "our" Nighthawk X10 AD7200 – that's not a Netgear model number – you probably mean the R9000.

You should know that this community is essentially a user-to-user venue with some input from a small band of Netgear techies.

Most of the answers come from fellow users who have no connection with Netgear. They just have a lot of collective experience and are familiar with the sort of problems that turn up here.
