Netgear Nighthawk x4 1800

I bought this to work with my AT&T hotspot SIM card. When I was setting it up, it asked for an apn value. It did not automatically locate one and said to contact my provider. After 2 plus hours on the phone work AT&T, they determined they cannot provide an apn for an unlocked device. (Even though I told the sales lady that’s what I was going to do with the SIM card when I added it to my account). Does anyone know how to get the APN value? Thanks!

    You may need to put the nighthawk router in AP mode since the ATT hotspot is acting as a router.

    Were you able to resolve this problem with the APN for an unlocked Nighthawk?
