Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000 incompatible with Android devices
I recently purchased a new router, Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000 (Firmware Version
V1.0.4.28_10.1.54). However, as it turns out, it is incompatible with Android devices! The router does not appear in...

I got some help from Netgear Support, and it turned out that a hard reset of the router helped (use a sharp object and press the the countersunk reset button for one minute). After resetting, it took a good 10-15 min until the router had recovered (updated) fully. If I hadn't had Netgear Support online through this long-winded process, I would probably have thought I had broken the router....
After the reset and update, the firmware installed is the same as before: Firmware Version V1.0.4.28_10.1.54. According to the support guy, there are "rare cases" when updates fail to complete properly, but doing a hard reset apparently helps to resolve such states.
Now, the Android mobile connects happily - no changes done on the mobile.

The router does not appear in the list of wifi networks on Android devices, and it is impossible to connect to even with manual entry.
That makes no sense. The R8000 just puffs out wifi. It does not discriminate against the devices that can connect to it.
If you have a problem connecting to the wifi, there can be many many reasons for that, including problems with the wifi clients.
From the information you provide it is hard to guess at what might be going on.
What are these unnamed Android devices? What wifi bands are you trying to connect to? Can you access the wifi with other devices?

The Android device (mobile) connects to other wifi routers. Macs and iPhones connect to the Nighthawk router. Other people in this forum also report their Android devices stopped connecting after the latest firmware updates, and reverting to a previous version made it work again. Please see previously posted links, + one more:
Which Android setting do you refer to? I have tried to manually connect to the 2.4GHz network, and it tries but fails.

That link is for a different router, meaningless. Not all router firmware is created equally.
How does it FAIL? What is the EXACT message you get? How far away from the router is the device?
