Netgear R6700 registered to someone else
I bought this used from someone else and can’t set it up without it being registered to me. So what are my options to throw it away now? It’s literally useless without being able to register to me :(

1. You don't need to register it to use it. It'll work fine. registration is mainly for warranty/support options
2. you can contact the prior owner and have them go into their account and deregister it.
3. Make sure you factory reset any used device. Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while powered on.

As plemans says, you don't need to register something to use it. Just follow the instructions a step at a time.
There are some features that need a link to MyNetgear.
So what are you doing and where does it go wrong?
