Netgear R6700v3 stop broadcasting 5Ghz SSID
The 5 Ghz SSID suddenly disappeared a couple of days ago. Here is what I have done.
- Rebooted device
- Toggled the 5Ghz broadcast on and off in Advanced > Wireless Setup
- Tried different channels for the 5Ghz signal
- Updated the firmware - V1.04.120-10.0.91
- Factory Reset and re-configure router
- My devices do have 5G capability.
Unfortunately, it is no longer in warranty. Purchased it back in 08-2020.
Thank you for your assistance,

Hello JRS_4
You could try to roll the firmware back to older firmware to see if that is causing the issue. Here is a guide on how manually load firmware to the unit. https://kb.netgear.com/23960/How-do-I-manually-update-the-firmware-on-my-NETGEAR-router . If that does not work it could be the 5ghz network has failed altogether.

Thanks Darren. I switched to an earlier firmware. No success. I switched it back to the most current firmware. 5G showed up and actually connected. Once I started walking away from the router (about 20 ft), it disconnected and disappeared. Unfortunately, warranty is out. I've had it for 16 months. Any other ideas?
