Netgear R6850 forcing Netgear acct?

I've been seeing the user name/password issue more.
I think the reason is netgear is requiring users to meet the minimum requirements on the password.
It might have updated at some point and yours didn't meet the requirements.
Did you change the password?
Ya I have noticed that 10 characters is minimum requirement know days. Upper case and a numerical character is needed as well.
